Fick detta från en man med lång erfarenhet från att både bo och leva på Norra Cypern, och som dessutom har gjort en hel del investeringar på den delen av ön. Jag bad honom kort skriva ned sina tankar om framtiden både vad gäller Norra Cypern och andra länder kring medelhavet. Här är hans svar:
From a pure investment point of view, I feel totally secure with the property I own in North Cyprus and I am comfortable in the fact that what I have brought and still buy is at the lowest prices for comparable property in The Mediterranean. I accept that there are other emerging countries however North Cyprus really is very unique. It is already in Europe (South), values are artificially suppressed (cannot stay this way), rich in history stretching back to antiquity, full of archaeological sites, wonderful nature and tons of sunshine year round.
Pounds per sqm (from £600) in more established Med locations would not buy the fantastic quality and locations that one can now buy in North Cyprus. North Cyprus also has the longest sunshine days in the Med, a very low crime rate and a lovely pace of life.
Add to this the potential of a substantial capital value uplift after The Embargoes are lifted or softened or even some solution. I will continue to buy property in North Cyprus.
Jag har själv varit ett flertal gånger på Norra Cypern nu, och måste säga att man lätt blir förälskad. Jag kommer att återvända dit och säkert inom en snar framtid också ha en investering där….
